Factory
securing Europe’s supply
of strategic metals for the sustainable economy
Circular Industries’ mission is to recover metals from waste sources and put them back into the Circular Economy, thereby slowing down the rate of primary mining and leaving more of the world’s natural resources for future generations.
E-WASTE, A HUGE ENVIRONMENTAL OPPORTUNITY
The recovery of materials is a global issue. The world generated near 50 Million tons of electronic and electrical waste (e-waste) last year, a figure expected to grow by 38% to 78 Million tons in 2030.
The EU recycles less than 40% of its e-waste. A huge environmental opportunity exists to recycle more of the materials in the e-waste currently being discarded.
INCREASING DEMAND
FOR CERTAIN METALS
As devices get smaller and the metal content of circuit boards is reduced, traditional methods of recovering the elements are increasingly less effective. Furthermore, as the demand for electric vehicles increases, and the transition to sustainable energy using solar and wind power technologies gathers pace, the demand for certain metals is increasing.
This necessitates the building of both capabilities and capacity to recover
metals from e-waste and other sources.

GREENEST COPPER
Each Urban Mining Factory will process
15,000 tons of Printed Circuit Boards annually and will produce approximately 5,000 tons of metals, of which 2,700 tons will be Copper and over 2,000 tons will be other valuable metals.
Production will use Circular Industries’ unique configuration of proven green technologies, which prevents toxic emissions and residual waste.
The unmatched process ensures the greenest copper produced.

PARTNERSHIPS
We aim to partner with all parties in the supply chain, from e-waste recyclers who can supply us with PCBs to Electronics Manufacturers who want to source ‘green’ metals to help them reach their environmental and sustainability goals.
Going forward, future projects will target other complex and low-grade waste streams, expanding production and recovering more elements according to a multi-metal recovery strategy.
Through these projects, Circular Industries will take a leading role in environmentally friendly secondary metals production.
